26 Aug SAIL Amsterdam 2015

Last week almost 2.3 million people (!) visited SAIL in Amsterdam to enjoy Tall Ships, shows and a great Dutch atmosphere. SAIL Amsterdam is a nautical festival that takes place every five years in the waterways of Amsterdam. The ninth edition of SAIL was a huge success: boats were sailing, the sun was shining and beer flowed generously. Every evening there was a different music show in the SAIL Music Marina, followed by a spectacular ending with fireworks from a stage in the river IJ. The fireworks were visible in many parts of the city and could even be seen from the highway. Other cultural activities were located in the inner city (called the ‘Red Ocean’). There were many stages, exhibitions and tourist routes along heritage sites.
For those of you who missed SAIL 2015, here is a photo summary. You’ve got five years to get excited for the next edition! Did you enjoy SAIL as much as I did? Let me know!
